"Adam Copeland Reveals the Key Reason He Chose to Sign with AEW"

In an interview on the Talk Is Jericho podcast, Adam Copeland revealed to Chris Jericho that his children played a crucial role in his decision to choose All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as his next big challenge, in addition to the need for a change in his career.

"I think you and I are connected in the same way. Anyone who has been in this industry as long as guys like us, you're driven by challenges. You're not going to show up for something and do the same thing as always with the idea that it's going to work for long. You want to face challenges, you have to recreate yourself, reinvent your character," Copeland began.

While he expressed gratitude for his work in WWE, he at times found it monotonous: "You have to make adjustments, things like that, change your style, whatever it is, to keep yourself creatively stimulated. It also depends on who you work with. I could work with Seth Rollins every day of the week, and it would be amazing. But we've fought now, and it's okay. I fought Finn (Balor), it's okay. I fought Roman, okay. Against AJ Styles, I've worked with most of them. And we just reached a point, I think, you know, I've said it, I think both parties ran out of ideas."

"It's not anyone's fault. I really feel like I have a small window here to be able to contribute to the wrestling industry as a whole and be able to carry out the matches I want to carry out at a certain level," explained The Rated-R Superstar.

"I know the window is small. I don't have another 10 years to do it the way I want. And I wanted to make the most of it. I felt like I was given two years or a year. When I sat down with my family and talked, my daughters made it very simple: they told me I just have to go with Uncle Jay." The "Uncle Jay" is Christian for Copeland's daughters, his real-life best friend.

"When a nine-year-old can really simplify that, it's a wake-up call. What do you think? Because after the show in Toronto, I was delighted," he concluded.
