John Cena had an emotional reunion with a fan he had a rap battle with exactly 20 years ago, during his appearance on WWE NXT last night. Cena rapped while he was in his "Doctor of Thuganomics" character.
Last night on NXT, Cena accompanied Carmelo Hayes in his corner for Melo's match against Bron Breakker in the main event of the show. He also had an altercation with Breakker himself before that match when he delivered the Attitude Adjustment.
But that wasn't the only highlight, as several fans on social media revealed that the leader of the Cenation reunited with a fan he had a rap battle with 20 years ago, before the No Mercy 2003 event where The Greatest of All Time lost to Kurt Angle.
During that time, Cena was using the "Doctor of Thuganomics" persona, his rapper gimmick that helped him rise in WWE and become the face of the company as the top babyface for over 15 years. Four years ago, at WrestleMania 35, Cena interrupted a promo by Elias while still using the same persona.
In October 2003, @johncena & @CoryLutzow faced off in a rap battle outside of a WWE event 🐐🔥
