Live Report WWE Monday Night Raw October 9, 2023
The episode begins with a recap of the WWE Fastlane event.
Seth "Freakin" Rollins opens tonight's show. Dressed in a black and white checkered jacket and with the World Heavyweight Championship around his waist, Rollins makes his way to the ring. Once in the ring, he crosses his arms to bask in the cheers of the fans before thanking them with a bow.
"Omaha, welcome to Monday Night Rollins!" begins the champion. Seth recalls his match at WWE Fastlane, where Shinsuke Nakamura pushed him to the limit. Rollins admits that there were moments when he thought he couldn't get up... but he did. He also thought he couldn't keep his opponent down... but he did that too. However, once he returned backstage and the adrenaline stopped flowing through his body, he realized the delicate state of his back.
With a serious face, Seth says that carrying the World Heavyweight Championship and defending it before them has been the greatest honor... and will continue to be, he says with a laugh, generating doubts about his future among the fans. Rollins suggests they keep celebrating a little more. However, Drew McIntyre interrupts the segment. The Scotsman advances down the entrance ramp and, after stopping in front of the ring, waves to the champion. Drew enters the ring, picks up a microphone, and stands in front of Seth. "You didn't come here to celebrate, did you? You want a match for the Heavyweight Championship, don't you?" Rollins asks.
Seth says he's not at 100%, but he doesn't care, pointing out that he just needs to go back backstage and get ready for the match. Drew stops him, saying he doesn't have to worry. The Scotsman wants to face Rollins when he's at 100%, so he proposes that the match take place at WWE Crown Jewel. Rollins seems surprised. After making sure that McIntyre isn't here to attack him, and that he really wants to face him on equal terms, he happily accepts his challenge after asking the fans' opinion.
Once his goal is achieved, Drew leaves. At that moment, Damian Priest attacks Rollins from behind, who receives a South of Heaven. McIntyre watches the scene from the entrance ramp but decides not to intervene. Priest approaches the ropes, waiting for someone. That someone is Dominik Mysterio, who rushes in with the Money in the Bank briefcase, but Drew stops him. Dom tries to continue his path, but McIntyre knocks him down with a headbutt before snatching the briefcase and throwing it far away. Meanwhile, Rollins recovers and launches a counterattack against Damian, who has no choice but to retreat to ringside. Seth raises his championship while shouting at the Puerto Rican.
Viking Rules Match
Kofi Kingston vs. Ivar
Kofi Kingston is the first to make his entrance, and he does so alone. The Ghanaian observes a ring surrounded by Viking shields. Ivar is the next to appear. The bell rings, and Ivar executes a big boot on his opponent. Kingston responds with a springboard crossbody before tossing
