Chris Jericho has been one of the pillars of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) since its inception, and the former world champion has faced a substantial portion of the company's roster. However, the Canadian wrestling legend has always sought to reinvent himself and avoid resting on past successes.
In a recent interview with the Dallas Morning News, Jericho revealed with which two wrestlers he would prefer not to compete and the reasons behind his decision. Here are his words:
"I don't have a specific timeline on what I'm doing, so there's no rush. I have a different mindset. I've wrestled many times with Adam Copeland and many times with Christian, so I'd rather not compete against them again. I mean, obviously, we could have a good match, but I really enjoy working with anyone I haven't had the opportunity with before.
I think Swerve Strickland is impressive, as is Mark Briscoe. They are just a couple of names that come to mind, and I haven't shared the ring with them. It must be a lot of fun to have matches with both of them. So, right now, that's kind of where I'm looking."
Jericho also mentioned several tag teams he would like to work with now that he has teamed up with Kenny Omega. Among them, he highlighted FTR.
"We have a lot going on right now with the Golden Jets and Big Bill and Ricky Starks and with Will Hobbs and Takeshita... And I would love to have a match with FTR. That would be great. I've never had a tag match against them. I think the Jets against FTR would be awesome.
So, there are a lot of pending matches that I could have teaming with Kenny before deciding what our next step is."
It's worth noting that on December 30 at AEW Worlds End, Kenny Omega and Jericho will have an opportunity for Big Bill and Ricky Starks' Tag Team Championships. This could potentially lead to Jericho winning his first tag team titles since joining Tony Khan's promotion.
