IMPACT Wrestling is eagerly looking forward to the new era that will begin next year with the return of TNA Wrestling. However, one person who won't be a part of this new phase is Heath. The former Tag Team World Champion is officially a free agent, as confirmed by the specialized media outlet Fightful.
" Heath's agreement with IMPACT has expired, and he is now accepting bookings," the media outlet wrote. It's worth noting that Heath's last appearance took place a week ago at the Bound For Glory Fallout tapings, where he faced Moose in a singles match. The wrestler confirmed the news in a recent response on his social media.
"Heath was released from WWE in April 2020 and returned for a one-time appearance in July 2020. The company offered him a full-time deal that he rejected, claiming it was about half of what he was making previously. He would go on to sign with IMPACT Wrestling, but unfortunately, he suffered a serious injury very early on, which extended his agreement," Fightful added.
Heath Slater entered the professional wrestling business in 2005, a year before signing with WWE. He was part of the company's developmental territory before appearing on the first season of NXT. Despite not winning the competition, Heath was integrated into The Nexus, a stable formed by several participants from that season, including Daniel Bryan, Wade Barrett, and Bray Wyatt.
During his time in WWE, Heath was part of various teams and factions, including The Corre, 3MB (Three Man Band), and Social Outcasts. Slater even had some title opportunities and, along with Rhino, became the inaugural SmackDown Tag Team Champions. Shortly after his release from WWE, Heath joined IMPACT Wrestling, where he reunited with Rhino. There, they once again became tag team champions. Currently, they continue to team up on the independent scene.
