In an interview for the "What Happened When" podcast, Tony Schiavone shared his emotions and feelings about the experience he had alongside Sting and Ric Flair during their reunion on AEW Dynamite.
"It was a special moment for me. Truly, it was. Tony Khan talked to me about 35 years ago when Sting and Flair had that match at Clash of the Champions, which was in Greensboro, the same day as WrestleMania, it was a sort of Jim Crockett's response to what Vince McMahon did at Starrcade '87," Schiavone recalled.
"It made me reflect on my career and my relationship with Sting, and especially with Flair, and it was a very special moment for me. I believe that my presentation of all that in the ring that night was quite genuine. So yes, it was pretty cool, and I really enjoyed it. It was a very pleasant moment for me. I felt honored to be a part of it. It truly was," he said.
"It's been a year of great moments for me personally," he continued. "Being inducted into the Iowa Hall of Fame and celebrating my 40 years in wrestling. I know you have to subtract 18 years, I understand, but it was 40 years ago when I started. And then being able to reunite with Flair and Sting was something very significant. So yes, it was great."
